Firebird Setup

If you have never installed the Firebird database engine the QCS Setup application will display the screen shown in Figure 5 below. Otherwise the Setup application will skip to the next part of the installation if it finds that the Firebird database engine has already been installed.

The default settings on this screen should not be changed unless it is absolutely necessary. If it is necessary clicking on the [Advanced Settings] button will allow you to change the path where the Firebird database engine is installed and also the context of the Firebird service between Local System and Specific Domain.

QCS is designed to coexist with other applications that also use the same or different version of the Firebird database engine. If you do have an existing installation of the Firebird database engine do not change the path in the QCS Setup application so that the version of Firebird used by QCS will overwrite the version of Firebird used by preexisting applications on your computer.

When you click on the [Next >] button QCS Setup will install the Firebird database engine on to your computer.
